WT could have addressed the issue sometime later and formally in writing (maybe the Shepherd The Flock Book) told the elders otherwise.

Actually, the question was raised if df'd ones could hang out together. They were told yes they could. That sort of made the harsh discipline of being df'd easier to take. To this day many former df'd ones are still close friends.

Back in the day, say the 80s & 90s the elders would have numerous meetings with those who were in trouble. The thinking was to reach & readjust such ones. Then the hammer came down from HQs telling elders that we had better things to do than to continually meet with wayward ones. We were told to be men & drop the ax so to speak & disfellowship. So yah...we started to disfellowship right & left. In one congregation I was in we had as many as 14 disfellowshipped ones & numerous others on restrictions. So now, as before, it seems the elders are being told to spend more time with errant ones with a view to readjusting them. Go figure!

i am sure we were all shocked at the governing body update #2 with the unusual and impulsive changes set forth.. i am an insider at whq, and when i was on reddit and in communication with avoidjw i explained to the best of my ability that the approach on disfellowshipping was going to change based on the new light at the 2023 agm, that the jubilee rumor was false, and there were going to be changes on how jws approached disfellowshipping in response to the norway situation if it didn't turn out in watchtower's favor.
the decision came because of a legal blow to watchtower, not because "holy spirit" wad directing a faithful slave, who is going to become the "evil slave", more explanation on this soon.. everything i stated came true.
i left reddit exjw community due to the immature and mentally unstable nature there, and yet as has been the case my words came true.
Blood transfusions will not be considered a conscience matter, in fact it will be back to how it used to be, instead they will reverse their opinions on using transfusion alternatives with blood fractions.

Yes I agree with the above assessment that WT is collapsing. It's happening as we speak. Worse yet...WT does not have the luxury of high membership numbers...8 million rank & file is an insignificant number considering that a good percentage of those 8 mil are already inactive or otherwise PIMO. By 2034 my guess is that number will greatly be reduced to about 4 million from 8 million.
things are changing so rapidly.
there is so much confusion now.. if we can talk to disfellowshiped/disassociated ones to invite them to meetings then is it really going to stop there?.
some family members haven’t had contact for decades and now after yesterdays new light they will all be getting calls.
Funny thing...throughout Mark Sanderson's 20 minute talk on all these 'new' changes, not once does he reference Proverbs 4:18 as they've done hundreds of times before as new light from 'Jehovah'. He uses the expression 'clearer understanding'. I wonder if they've finally wised-up & realized the context of Proverbs 4:18 has nothing to do with new religious, organizational teachings and understandings.

It's okay for JW men/brothers to sport beards. They don't need to wear suits, ties or coats to Kingdom Hall meetings, field service, assemblies and conventions. And it's okay for JW sisters/women to wear pants to Kingdom Hall meetings, field service, assemblies and conventions.
